Job summary

Mayfield Clinic is seeking an Outpatient Scheduling Coordinator to support patients and care teams. The role coordinates diagnostic testing, obtains prior authorizations and shares scheduling information with facilities and patients.

The successful candidate will be organized, proactive and capable of working across multiple computer systems while maintaining compassionate communication with patients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• 2+ years of experience in healthcare scheduling, prior authorization, customer service or related field preferred.
• Experience with insurance requirements, diagnostic testing or medical terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outpatient diagnostic testing, including obtaining required prior authorizations.
• Provide orders and authorization information to diagnostic facilities and communicate scheduling information to patients.
• Maintain complete, accurate documentation of scheduling and communications in the electronic medical record.
• Identify missing or conflicting information and take appropriate action to resolve it.
• Collaborate effectively with patients, physicians, staff, facilities and insurers to prevent delays in patient care.
