Job summary

Wichita Public Schools - USD259 in Wichita, KS is seeking an Intensive Behavior Support Coach to collaborate with principals, educators and staff to develop and implement behavior interventions and data-based plans for students.

You will de-escalate students, support students with disabilities in least restrictive environments, coach staff in positive behavior supports, and track behavioral and academic data while aligning with district policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Kansas teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.
• Minimum 3 years of special education teaching experience.
• Knowledge of IEP development and least restrictive environment.
• Ability to coach staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong data collection and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the building team in implementing proactive behavior management approaches.
• Support students with disabilities to access diverse activities in least restrictive environments.
• Build and sustain partnerships with families and community partners for collaboration.
• Support standards of student conduct and respond to students in crisis when needed.
• Design and implement data-based, multi-faceted behavior interventions.
• Maintain confidentiality with students, parents, and staff.
• Follow district policies and guidelines for conduct violations.
• Understand and apply Special Education regulations including LRBIs.
• Coach others to apply effective behavior management techniques.
• Model clear classroom structure, routines, and expectations tailored to student needs.
