Job summary

Fort Worth ISD seeks a Teacher Behavior and Intervention to collaborate with Student Support Services and campus administrators. The role improves student achievement by addressing emotional, social, and behavioral health needs within the academic setting.

The position includes evaluating critical needs, delivering behavioral intervention, staff development, and may manage programs like SEAS or Autism In-Home Training. Reports to the Director Special Education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mental Health, Human Services, or a related field required.
• Master’s degree in Education, Mental Health, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
• Valid Texas Special Education Certification or Valid Texas Teaching Certification with a Special Education endorsement required.
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certification preferred.
• ESL Certification preferred in some settings.
• 3 years’ teaching in Special Education required; experience to include extensive background in behavior, including autism.

Responsibilities

• Provides a variety of behavioral strategies for administrators, teachers, and students to support student needs, including ABA type strategies.
• Provides individualized support to students with severe emotional, social behavioral, or mental health issues.
• Develops and provides follow up to IEP or BIP, and offers expertise in Behavior Improvement Plans (BIP).
• Provides information, training, education, and consultation services with parents, teachers, administrators, and stakeholders to enhance work with students.
• Maintains records of contacts and ensures confidentiality.
