Job summary

Busy Beaver Building Centers in Mount Pleasant, PA is seeking a Pro Sales Specialist to lead the Lumber and Building Materials Sales Desk and drive contractor and DIY sales growth. You will cultivate commercial relationships, service projects, and coach junior teammates while maintaining a high level of customer engagement, product knowledge, and cross-merchandising.

The base pay ranges from $20 to $25 per hour, with a monthly sales bonus up to $2,500 and uncapped new account commissions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required; a college degree is preferred though not necessary.
• Experience with Commercial Sales / Contractor Sales.
• Knowledgeable in Lumber, Building Materials, Hardware.
• Retail sales and inside sales experience (2–3 years) is required.

Description

The Pro Sales Specialist will play the leadership role in the performance of the Lumber and Building Materials Departments in Busy Beaver Building Centers. This area is commonly known as the Sales Desk in the store. In this role, the Pro Sales Specialist will:

60% - Drive incremental sales growth through the Sales Desk by cultivating and servicing new and existing commercial/contractor business relationships A separate incentive program has been developed to reward performance in this area.

30% - Service new and existing Do-It-Yourself customers who shop at the Sales Desk on a project-oriented basis.

10% - Assist and train junior members of the Sales Desk Team to enhance the overall performance of the Departments.

Compensation: The posted salary range is the annual target total cash compensation for the role – hourly pay, monthly sales incentive and new account bonus.

• Base: $20-$25/hour
• Monthly Sales Achievement Bonus: Up to $2500
• New Account Bonus: Uncapped set % of Sales

Principal accountabilities

SALES PERFORMANCE

• Assists Management in implementing, driving and monitoring customer engagement strategies to achieve sales and margin objectives for assigned departments
• Implements best practices for selling
• Establishes relationships with Contractor/Commercial sales customers
• Establishes relationships with local businesses
• Drives Department metrics to achieve set goals
• Ensures Ad merchandise is presented prominently and related add-on items are cross-merchandised
• Leads by example for customer engagement techniques and maintains a high-level presence at the sales desk
• Manages the Installed Sales program at store level
• Identifies and recommends the needs of the assigned departments to the General Manager
• Monitors competitive activity and communicates to the office
• Knowledge of POS Functions
• Manages quotes and estimates
• Maintains Safety Awareness

An ideal candidate would come with knowledge heavily in lumber and building materials as well as Hardware sales in general. This applicant would also come with a contact list of vendors.
