Carter Lumber is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a pro-oriented lumberyard. You will oversee store operations, inventory, and staff while driving sales and controlling costs. Strong leadership, communication, and contractor relations are essential for success.

The role requires flexibility to work weekends/holidays and collaborate with field and internal teams to meet performance targets.

Qualifications

• Previous sales, operational and management experience in a pro building materials store.
• Experience dealing with contractors.
• Experience analyzing inventory activity.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee store operations and ensure policy execution across yard activities and office staff.
• Direct staffing, scheduling, training, and performance actions.
• Lead inside sales and monitor sales and profit goals with the GM.
• Identify learning opportunities and coordinate safety training.
