Job summary

Akumin is seeking a PRN X-ray Technologist for our Jacksonville, FL facilities. The role involves producing diagnostic radiographic images and assisting licensed practitioners, with flexibility to cover shifts as needed.

Requirements include ARRT(R) license, CPR/BLS, state licensure if applicable, and knowledge of EMR, PACS, and DICOM. Prior x-ray experience is preferred, and applicants must be able to travel between locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; AS degree preferred.
• ARRT (R) certification; state license if applicable.
• CPR/BLS certification; ACLS where applicable.
• Ability to work at multiple locations; local travel may be required.
• 1 year of x-ray experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic radiographs as ordered by the physician.
• Operate different X-ray equipment and adjust settings for patient safety.
• Communicate effectively with patients and radiologists.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information.
• Utilize EMR, PACS, and DICOM for image sharing and interpretation.
• Train and orient new technologists or coordinators as needed.
• Stay current with annual and site-specific education and competencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
