Job summary

The Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to evaluate, treat, and support a geriatric population in a skilled nursing setting. Licensure as an RT or CRT and BLS certification are required, with ability to work independently and manage respiratory care needs.

The role involves bedside therapies, documentation, and collaboration with IDT; experience with tracheostomy and long-term care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; licensure required (RRT/CRT).
• Licensed in the practicing state; BLS certification required.
• Experience with long-term care settings and tracheotomy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques for rehabilitation of patients with various respiratory illnesses.
• Initiates therapies, maintains patient records, operates and checks equipment.
• Performs a variety of bedside treatments.
• Conducts in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Completes daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attends applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheostomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follows facility procedures and protocols.
• Performs tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.

Respiratory Therapist (RT)Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience. • Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments

• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
