Job summary

The Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join a skilled nursing team. The RT will assess, treat, and document respiratory care, including bedside therapies and equipment management, with oversight as needed.

Applicants must be a COARC-accredited graduate (AS/BS) and hold RRT or CRT licensure, plus a state license and BLS. Experience in tracheotomy and long-term care is preferred. Salary ranges from $48 to $52 per hour.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the practicing state with BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to rehabilitate patients with various illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and provide quarterly in-services for nursing staff.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation and attend IDT meetings.
• Track, audit and manage caseload; support residents' functional improvement.

Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience. • Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required
