Job summary

AdventHealth Lake Mary ED and Sanford ED seek an Ultrasound Technologist PRN to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams. You will verify patient history, position patients, and optimize images while documenting findings in EMR/PACS.

You’ll educate patients, maintain infection control, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses. Responsibilities include following department protocols, ensuring patient comfort, and contributing to a smooth radiology workflow in a busy

Qualifications

• Must have detailed knowledge of ultrasound physics and anatomy.
• Proficiency with radiology software and PACS.
• Excellent patient care and communication across all ages.
• Ability to work with radiologists and staff.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.
• Maintain licenses and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per orders.
• Verify patient identity and exam appropriateness and obtain clinical history.
• Operate imaging equipment and adjust settings for optimal images.
• Document in EMR and PACS with accurate findings.
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort and privacy.
• Collaborate with radiologists to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of care.
• Maintain exam rooms and equipment, follow infection control protocols.
