Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System Akron General is seeking a PRN Surgical Technologist to support the Operating Room team. You will assist surgeons, prep sterile fields, pass instruments, and help maintain patient safety during procedures.

This role offers exposure to a wide range of specialties in a Level I trauma setting. Minimum qualifications include an accredited Surgical Technology program or CST/TS-C certification and BLS.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required through AHA or Red Cross.
• Accredited Surgical Technology program or military program, or LPN/ CST/TS-C credentials.
• Tuition reimbursement available for education advancement

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in the scrub capacity.
• Scrub, gown and glove according to policies and procedures.
• Set up table with instruments and supplies.
• Assist and anticipate needs of surgeon with instruments, sutures and supplies.
• Prepare and drape patient and operative area.
• Perform instrument counts with circulating RN and report discrepancies.
• Maintain equipment and sterile field between cases.
• Assist as circulator under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Coordinate patient transport and preoperative preparation.
• Attend safety and infection control trainings and keep CPR current.
