Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. A PRN caregiver will assist under surgeons and RNs, maintaining a sterile field, preparing instruments, and supporting perioperative care across the operative phases.

Ideal candidates graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program, possess BLS certification, and have CST/TS-C or military tech credentials.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program accredited through the CAAHEP or ABHES.
• OR completion of a military surgical technology program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (TS-C or CST).
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality, individualized patient care in perioperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases.
• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Assemble, check and open sterile packs, sutures and instruments.
• Assist surgeons and RN Circulator with retraction, suction and positioning.
• Prepare surgeon's preference lists and communicate during procedures.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of biohazard materials per universal precautions.
• Keep accurate counts of sutures, sharps, and instruments.

Surgical Technology Program Graduate (CAAHEP/ABHES)

Military Surgical Technology Program

Surgical Technologist Certification (TS-C/CST)

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Certified Surgical Technologist

Two years OR experience (acute care)
