Job summary

Novant Health’s Matthews Medical Center is seeking a PRN Surgical Technologist to support a fast-paced, safety-focused operating room. You will prepare ORs, arrange sterile equipment, and assist surgeons under nurse supervision to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of surgical tech experience and CST/TS-C/NRCST/SA-C certification. The team emphasizes collaboration, continuous learning, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma or GED required; accredited Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent.
• Experience: Previous Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: CST, TS-C, NRCST, or SA-C preferred; state-specific SC regulation may apply.
• Additional: New grads should obtain certification within 12 months; competency testing may be required.

• Facilitate safe, efficient conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
• Ensure OR environment is safe and equipment functions properly.
• Assist physician and nurse during procedures and maintain sterile technique.
