Job summary

Vibra Healthcare, LLC seeks a PRN Respiratory Therapist at a Long Term Acute Care facility in Kentucky to provide adult patient respiratory care, operate equipment, and assist physicians with treatments.

You will manage ventilators, perform chest physiotherapy, administer oxygen and therapies, document responses, and participate in rounds and safety programs. Licensure as a Respiratory Practitioner, BLS on hire, and ACLS within 90 days are required; commitment to continuing education is expected.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Provides care for adult patients (18+) and respects patient rights.
• Explains purposes and procedures of treatments and documents patient education.
• Performs physician-prescribed treatments including Hand Held Nebulizer Therapy and oxygen delivery.
• Sets up, operates and monitors ventilators; participates in ventilator weaning as directed.
• Records treatments and patient responses; maintains MARs and chart documentation.
• Performs trach care and tube changes per hospital policy and documents changes.
• Maintains ventilation during CPR and ensures readiness of equipment; reports changes to relief staff.
• Assists with respiratory care/ventilator patient transport and participates in safety and education activities.
• Conducts blood gas analysis and maintains competency with blood gas devices.
