Job summary

Vibra Healthcare, LLC. is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for PRN coverage in a Long Term Acute Care setting. You will work under supervision to operate respiratory care equipment for diagnosis and treatment, and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff.

The role requires current licensure as a Respiratory Practitioner, BLS on hire, and ACLS within 90 days, with ongoing maintenance of licenses throughout employment. Excellent patient care and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice by the state as a Respiratory Practitioner.
• BLS required upon hire and ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• Must maintain licenses and certification for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides care for adults or geriatrics (18+) per patient needs.
• Explain purposes and procedures of treatments and document education in patient chart.
• Perform physician-prescribed treatments (nebulizer, nasal oxygen devices, humidification, oxygen concentrations).
• Set up, operate and monitor ventilators; participate in ventilator weaning per physician direction.
• Record treatments and patient responses on respiratory care records; update MARs.
• Perform trach care and changes per hospital policy; document care.
• Change tubing and inline suction devices; ensure proper documentation.
• Report treatments and patient condition changes to relief personnel and primary nurse.
• Process respiratory equipment (ENT/Bronchoscope); cleaning, sterilizing and packaging.
• Must participate in monthly Respiratory Care departmental meetings.
