MedStar Health seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide care across patient populations in a high-acute setting. You will administer therapies, assess needs, and monitor equipment per physician orders and established protocols.

The role requires an AMA-accredited respiratory care degree, CRT certification, and CPR/HEP presence within 90 days; 0–3 years of acute care experience is expected, with Maryland licensure as applicable.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher from an AMA accredited program in respiratory care required.
• Bachelor's degree in related healthcare field preferred.
• 0-3 years of acute care experience required.
• Registry eligible required.
• CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist by the NRBC required.
• CPR for healthcare providers within 90 days required.

Responsabilités

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to safety standards.
• Assesses patient physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs and documents.
• Performs respiratory therapies including oxygen, humidity, ventilation, bronchial hygiene and spirometry.
• Uses therapeutic communication and crisis intervention in patient care.
• Reviews electronic medical records and physician orders during shifts.
• Responds to CPR, maintains airway, provides oxygen and ventilation as needed.
