Job summary

Methodist Hospital Hill Country is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) PRN to join our Fredericksburg, TX team. You will assess, treat and care for patients with pulmonary disorders, operate ventilators and monitor therapy responses.

Role requires TX license, NBRC RRT or CRT, BLS on hire and ACLS within 90 days; PALS/NRP within 90 days if required. Collaboration with physicians and staff is essential. This facility is part of HCA Healthcare’s nationwide network.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• 1-year previous Respiratory Therapy experience preferred
• Texas license as Respiratory Care Practitioner to practice in Texas
• NBRC RRT or CRT credential (CRT grandfathered if before 2002)
• BLS on hire and ACLS within 90 days of employment
• PALS or NRP within 90 days if department requires

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up devices such as mechanical ventilators and aerosol generators.
• Provide emergency care including artificial ventilation and CPR support.
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases and interpret results.
• Follow physician orders and tailor therapy duration and modality.
• Monitor patient responses via vital signs, ABG values and monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to adjust the care plan.
