Job summary

HCA Florida Ocala Hospital in Ocala, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for PRN shifts to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The RN collaborates with physicians and the care team to assess, plan, implement and manage care using established nursing models, while upholding the hospital’s commitment to an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities include assessing pain, documenting care, administering treatments, educating patients and families, and promoting wellness

Qualifications

• Must obtain ACLS within 90 days of employment start date.
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• ENPC within 6 months of employment start date.
• NRP within 90 days of employment start date.
• PALS within 90 days of employment start date.
• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
