Job summary

Boulder Centre for Orthopedics and Spine is seeking an Observation Extended Care Unit RN for PRN onsite work in Colorado. You will provide specialized postoperative care, support patients through recovery from orthopedic procedures, and collaborate with surgeons and therapists to individualize plans.

The role requires a Colorado RN license, BCLS & ACLS, and at least 2 years of RN experience in a clinical setting, with orthopedic exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree (Bachelor’s preferred)
• Current Colorado RN license
• BCLS & ACLS certification
• 2 years experience as an RN in a professional medical setting required
• Orthopedic care experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide expert postoperative care and monitor patient recovery
• Collaborate with surgeons, physical therapists, and the care team on individualized plans
• Manage pain and symptoms, administer medications, and use non-medication interventions
• Perform wound care and educate patients and families on recovery at home
• Document care accurately and uphold infection control and safety standards
• Offer emotional support to help patients feel confident and cared for

Join Our Orthopedic Surgery Center as an Observation Extended Care Unit RN

Position Details:

Department: Convalescent Care

Reports to: Clinical Director

Schedule/Type: PRN – onsite/hourly

Days: Monday–Friday, variable

Shifts: 12-hour shifts available – Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. | Night Shift: 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Wage: $50/hr.

Night Shift Differential: Additional $7/hr. for shifts worked from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Bonus Eligibility: No

What You’ll Do

Requirements

• Nursing degree (Bachelor’s preferred)
• Current Colorado RN license
• BCLS & ACLS certification
• 2 years experience as an RN in a professional medical setting required, orthopedic care experience (strongly preferred)
