Job summary

Boulder Centre for Orthopedics seeks an Operating Room RN to join our dedicated team in Broomfield, Colorado. This role is vital in delivering exceptional patient care before, during, and after surgery, and requires at least 2 years of OR nursing experience.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, a current Colorado RN license, and BCLS & ACLS certifications. We promote continuous learning and provide an inclusive work environment.

PRN- onsite/hourly, M-F 10-hour shifts, with 5 shifts in 6 weeks period, minimum requirement

Requirements
Essential Duties
  • Performs circulating functions before surgery, including preparing the operating environment, orienting and assessing the patient, and reviewing the patient’s medical record and surgeon’s notes to ensure all pre-requisites and preferences are met.
  • Ensures safety checklists and procedures are implemented and documented at all times.
  • Performs circulating functions during surgery, including monitoring and communicating patient condition, documenting interventions and activities, monitoring the sterile field, and controlling traffic into, out of, and around the operating room suite.
  • Assists with scrub functions, including the preparation, selection, and handling of instruments and supplies used during the surgical procedure. Performs surgical counts with the surgical tech/scrub nurse.
  • Provides nursing care to a high-acuity surgical patient population in a technically demanding environment.
  • Within the scope of the job, it requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Experience Required

2 years of OR nursing (RN) experience. Previous ASC experience in an Orthopedic setting preferred.

Education/Certification requirements
  • Degree in Nursing: Bachelor's Preferred
  • Current Colorado Registered Nurse license
  • BCLS & ACLS certification required.
