Job summary

Boulder Centre for Orthopedics is seeking an Observation Extended Care Unit RN for part-time, PRN on-site work in Colorado. The role focuses on postoperative care and patient recovery in a fast-paced orthopedic environment.

Wage is $50/hr with an additional night differential of $7/hr for shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. No weekend or holiday work. Colorado RN licensed nurses with BCLS & ACLS are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree and current Colorado RN license.
• BCLS & ACLS certifications.
• At least 2 years of RN experience in a professional medical setting; orthopedic care preferred.
• Ability to work PRN onsite 12-hour shifts (Day/Night).

Responsibilities

• Provide expert postoperative care and monitor patient recovery
• Collaborate with surgeons, physical therapists, and the care team on individualized plans
• Manage pain and symptoms, administer medications, and use non-medication interventions
• Perform wound care and educate patients and families on recovery at home
• Document care accurately and uphold infection control and safety standards
• Offer emotional support to help patients feel confident and cared for

Position Details

• Department: Convalescent Care
• Reports to: Clinical Director
• Schedule/Type: PRN – onsite/hourly
• Days: Monday–Friday, variable
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts available – Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. | Night Shift: 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Wage: $50/hr.
• Night Shift Differential: Additional $7/hr. for shifts worked from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Bonus Eligibility: No

Requirements

• Nursing degree (Bachelor’s preferred)
• Current Colorado RN licenseBCLS & ACLS certification
• 2 years experience as an RN in a professional medical setting required, orthopedic care experience (strongly preferred)
