Job summary

Elior North America is seeking a PRN Registered Dietitian to join our healthcare and food service team at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. The role focuses on assessing nutritional needs, initiating interventions, and improving patient quality of life; typically scheduled for 8–16 hours per week.

The position requires a bachelor’s (or higher) in nutrition, licensure, and CDR exam eligibility, with preferred healthcare or long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024) or related field.
• Master’s degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Passed a national examination administered by the CDR or meets eligibility requirements.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years per CDR portfolio process.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for comprehensive assessments, care planning and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the health care team and educate patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Follow the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interact with other departments to set up procedures and policies related to dining service and nutrition.
• Actively participate in developing, reviewing, and revising continuous quality improvement programs.
