Job summary

Elior North America is seeking a PRN Registered Dietitian to join the healthcare and food service team at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. You will assess nutritional needs, initiate interventions to improve status, and support quality of life aligned with patient goals.

This position typically schedules 8–16 hours per week, offering flexible hours and a chance to contribute to care plans while collaborating with the healthcare team and dining services.

Qualifications

• Must-have: Bachelor's degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024) and Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Must-have: Passed the national exam or eligible per Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Must-have: 75 hours of CE every five years with portfolio development.
• Must-have: Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Must-have: Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Must-have: Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics.
• Nice-to-have: Experience in healthcare or long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the health care team and educate patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Follow the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interact with other departments to set up procedures and policies for dining service and nutrition.
• Participate in development, review, and improvement of quality programs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024)

Master’s degree in Nutrition or related field

Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.

Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.

Licensed or certified, per state requirements.

Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.

Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.
