Job summary

Elior North America is seeking a PRN Registered Dietitian to join the healthcare & food service team at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. The role involves assessing nutritional needs, initiating interventions, and enhancing quality of life in line with patient goals.

The position is part-time, onsite, 8-16 hours weekly, with responsibilities including education of patients and staff, adherence to standards, and collaboration with other departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (prior to 2024) or related field
• Master’s degree in Nutrition or related field
• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years, per CDR requirements
• Licensed or certified per state requirements
• Knowledge of regulation standards for comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights
• Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the health care team and educate patients/residents, staff, or consultants
• Follow the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with other departments to set up procedures and policies related to dining service and nutrition
• Participate in development and review of continuous quality improvement programs

Education

Bachelor’s degree in nutrition

Master’s degree in Nutrition

CDR exam or eligibility with Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

75 hours CE every 5 years

Licensed or certified as required by state

Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments and care planning

Ability to teach nutrition and dietetics
