Job summary

Elior North America is seeking a PRN Registered Dietitian to join our healthcare and food service team at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. You will assess nutritional needs, initiate interventions, and support quality of life for patients and residents.

Typical schedule is 8–16 hours per week. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Nutrition, a Master’s in Nutrition or related field, licensure or certification, and ongoing CE hours; RD status is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (prior to 2024) or related field.
• Master’s degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Passed a national exam by the CDR or meets Academy eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours CE every 5 years.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards for assessments and care planning.
• Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the healthcare team and educate patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Follow Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to set up procedures and policies related to dining and nutrition.
• Participate in development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field (Prior to 2024)

Master’s degree in Nutrition or related field

CDR national examination or eligibility per AND requirements

75 hours continuing education every five years

Licensed or certified per state requirements

Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments, care planning, residents’ rights

Ability to teach nutrition and dietetics to others
