Job summary

Oakmont Healthcare seeks a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) on a PRN basis to support our in-house rehabilitation team. You will administer PT treatments, assist the supervising PT, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team to improve residents’ mobility and quality of life.

Successful candidates will hold an active Texas PTA license, have a good standing record with licensing boards, and bring knowledge of PT practices.

Qualifications

• Active Texas PTA license is required or in good standing with the state licensing board.
• Experience in skilled nursing facilities (SNF) or long-term care preferred.
• Knowledge of current physical therapy treatment practices and documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments under PT supervision.
• Provide skilled PT services and interventions per physician orders.
• Respond to service requests by relaying information and referrals to the PT.
• Implement and modify patients’ plans of care under PT supervision.
• Measure and record patients’ motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Monitor patient response and adjust treatment with clinical collaboration.
• Provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Ensure documentation is complete and compliant with policies and regulations.
• Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab.

Join Our Team as a (PRN) Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house team of outstanding professionals on a PRN basis. In this role, you will provide person-centered care to help residents achieve positive outcomes and improve their mobility, strength, and overall quality of life.

Your Impact as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

• Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain, improve or restore function, and promote healing

• Provide skilled physical therapy services and interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist

• Respond to requests for service by relaying information and referrals to the Physical Therapist

• Implement and modify patients’ physical therapy plans of care under PT supervision

• Measure and record patients’ motor function, strength, and muscle performance

• Monitor patient response to treatment interventions and modify approaches as clinically appropriate in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team

• Provide clinical support and education to patients, family members, and caregivers

• Ensure documentation is completed thoroughly and timely in compliance with company policies and state/federal regulatory requirements

• Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Active and valid Texas Physical Therapy Assistant license
