Job summary

Lee’s Summit Surgicenter, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Perioperative Nurse for PRN coverage. You will plan, implement, and evaluate preoperative and postoperative nursing care, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process.

Responsibilities include preparing the patient care area, ensuring necessary equipment, performing assessments, and administering pre-operative medications and IV therapy.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing
• ADN or higher degree in Nursing required
• 1+ years nursing experience in PACU/ICU/Surgery preferred
• BCLS certification required at employment
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients’ care area before case
• Ensure availability of equipment and supplies for procedures
• Perform complete physical and history assessments
• Administer pre-operative medications and IV therapy
• Maintain IV catheters and saline locks
• Check dressings and operative site and report abnormalities
• Verify discharge criteria are met
