Job summary

The Kroger Co. is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join our Roanoke, VA team. You will dispense medications, counsel patients, and collaborate with prescribers to ensure safety and quality care.

This role supports immunizations and diverse customer needs across a busy pharmacy environment. Ideal candidates will be licensed pharmacists with NAPLEX completed, and able to work at multiple store locations and travel if required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Pharmacist license in the state of employment.
• Graduate of a US School of Pharmacy or foreign equivalency accepted.
• Must have passed the NAPLEX exam.
• Ability to work at various locations.
• Ability to travel independently.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Answer questions about products and assist customers within the department and store.
• Communicate effectively with customers and store personnel.
• Provide drug counseling to patients and prescribers.
• Receive verbal RX orders and document per state and federal laws.
• Interpret, fill/refill, label and dispense prescription orders accurately.
• Evaluate RX orders for safety and legal compliance.
• Maintain RX records including insurance and OTC recommendations.
• Contact prescribers and their staff as needed.
• Utilize RX computer system accurately and securely.
• Maintain inventory and reconcile controlled substances per policy.
• Promote immunizations to patients and administer as trained.
• Oversee department duties in manager's absence and delegate tasks.
• File prescriptions per regulations and standards.
• Resolve conflicts with customers and staff when needed.
• Run reports and monitor department performance.
• Report safety incidents to management as required.
