Job summary

Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy in Boothwyn, PA is seeking a PRN Pharmacist to perform standard duties in a closed‑door setting and provide coverage during times of high demand or when regular pharmacists are on leave.

This PRN role typically requires about 2 eight-hour shifts per week, usually Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of additional shifts based on business needs, and includes responsibilities like verifying orders, labeling, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in a retail or long-term care pharmacy; 3+ years preferred.
• PA State Board Pharmacist License required.
• Experience supervising pharmacy technicians; able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage workflow including verification and labeling.
• Review medication orders for appropriateness and completeness.
• Ensure compliance with federal and local pharmacy laws.

Job description

Description As a PRN Pharmacist at Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy, you will work on an ad-hoc basis performing standard pharmacist duties in a closed-door setting. You will be responsible for providing coverage in times of high demand or when regular pharmacists are on paid leave.

Hours: PRN (This PRN role is expected to work approximately 2 8-hour shift per week, typically Monday & Tuesday from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with the potential to work additional shifts based on business needs.)

Location: Onsite in our Boothwyn, PA facility

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manages the workflow processes which may include pharmacist verification and labeling/packaging.
• Reviews medication orders and evaluate their appropriateness and completeness.
• Complies with federal and local pharmacy laws as regulated by the State Boards of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Food and Drug Administration.
• Performs all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach.
• Maintains required licenses or certifications in good standing.
• Complies with all company policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
• All other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

• Minimum one year experience in a retail or long-term care pharmacy; 3+ years preferred.
• Must possess a PA State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License.
• Experience supervising pharmacy technicians.
• Minimal typing speed of 40WPM preferred.
• Medical Records experience preferred.
• Experience with FrameworkLTC preferred, not required.
• Positive personality who can work well within a team.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Can de-escalate and troubleshoot problems within the pharmacy.
