Job summary

Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy in Rocky Hill, CT seeks a PRN Pharmacist to provide on-call coverage in a closed-door setting, performing standard pharmacist duties when regular pharmacists are unavailable.

This ad-hoc role requires working weekdays 8AM–5PM EST, onsite at our Rocky Hill facility, and involves reviewing orders, verifying medications, labeling, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• CT State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License required.
• Minimum one year experience in retail or long-term care pharmacy; 3+ years preferred.
• Order Entry experience is required.
• Typing speed of at least 40 WPM preferred.
• Medical Records experience preferred.
• Experience with FrameworkLTC preferred.
• Must be a positive team player and work well in a high-paced environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Responsibilities

• Manages workflow processes including pharmacist verification and labeling/packaging.
• Reviews medication orders for accuracy and completeness.
• Complies with federal and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Performs duties with a friendly, team-oriented approach.
• Maintains licenses or certifications in good standing.
• Follows company policies and procedures; performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

As a PRN Pharmacist at Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy, you will work on an ad-hoc basis performing standard pharmacist duties in a closed-door setting. You will be responsible for providing coverage in times of high demand or when regular pharmacists are on paid leave.

Hours

PRN, between the hours of M-F 8AM - 5PM EST.

Location

Onsite in our Rocky Hill, CT facility.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manages the workflow processes which may include pharmacist verification and labeling/packaging.
• Reviews medication orders and evaluate their appropriateness and completeness.
• Complies with federal and local pharmacy laws as regulated by the State Boards of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Food and Drug Administration.
• Performs all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach.
• Maintains required licenses or certifications in good standing.
• Complies with all company policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
• All other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge.

Requirements
