Job summary

Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacist PRN to support our long-term care operations in a closed-door setting. Coverage is on a ad-hoc basis during high-demand periods or leaves, with hours typically M-F 8AM–5PM EST, onsite in our Rocky Hill, CT facility.

As part of a dedicated LTC pharmacy serving individuals nationwide, you will verify orders, review prescriptions, and ensure compliance with federal and state laws while maintaining your license.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in a retail or long-term care pharmacy; 3+ years preferred.
• Must possess a CT State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License.
• Order Entry experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Manages the workflow processes which may include pharmacist verification and labeling/packaging.
• Reviews medication orders and evaluate their appropriateness and completeness.
• Complies with federal and local pharmacy laws as regulated by the State Boards of Pharmacy, the DEA, and the FDA.
• Performs all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manages the workflow processes which may include pharmacist verification and labeling/packaging.
• Reviews medication orders and evaluate their appropriateness and completeness.
• Complies with federal and local pharmacy laws as regulated by the State Boards of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Food and Drug Administration.
• Performs all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach.
• Maintains required licenses or certifications in good standing.
• Complies with all company policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
• All other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Minimum one year experience in a retail or long-term care pharmacy; 3+ years preferred.
• Must possess a CT State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License.
• Order Entry experience is required.
• Minimal typing speed of 40WPM preferred.
• Medical Records experience preferred.
• Experience with FrameworkLTC preferred.
• Positive personality who can work well within a team.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Can de-escalate and troubleshoot problems within the pharmacy.
