Job summary

Akumin seeks a PRN PET/CT Technologist to produce cross-sectional PET/CT images for diagnostic interpretation using radiofrequencies within a magnetic field. You will explain the procedure to patients and ensure comfort, safety and satisfaction across mobile, outpatient, and hospital environments.

You will interpret physician orders, adjust imaging parameters, operate scanners and related equipment, and assist in training new technologists as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience.
• NMTCB or ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine or PET.
• State license, as required.
• CPR certification.
• Valid state driver’s license, if applicable.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• 1-2 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety including pre-screening and radiation safety/regulations, with proper documentation.
• Produce high quality diagnostic images.
• Communicate effectively with customers and radiologists; maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Train new technologists and/or PCs.
• Troubleshoot the scanner, coach and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, coils).
