Job summary

Akumin is seeking a PRN PETCT Technologist to produce cross-sectional PET/CT images for medical interpretation, employing radiofrequency techniques within a magnetic field. You will explain procedures to patients, ensure comfort and safety, and interpret physician orders to select imaging parameters for high-quality studies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in Nuclear Medicine or PET by NMTCB or ARRT.
• State license, as required.
• CPR certification.
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality diagnostic PRN PET/CT images.
• Pre-screen patients for contraindications and radiation safety and maintain proper documentation.
• Explain procedures and address patient concerns to ensure comfort and safety.
• Train new technologists and/or PC's.
• Troubleshoot the scanner, coach and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, coils).
