Job summary

Akumin is hiring a PRN PET/CT Technologist for our Jacksonville, FL facilities. This part-time role involves ensuring patient safety, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and effectively communicating with patients and radiologists.

The position requires NMTCB/ARRT(N) certification, CPR, and a state license as applicable, with 1–2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred. Candidates must be flexible to work at multiple locations and may need to travel locally.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Certification in Nuclear Medicine NMTCB or ARRT(N) required.
• State license as required.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid state driver’s license if applicable.
• 1–2 years experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Pre-screen patients and perform aseptic injection technique.
• Produce high quality diagnostic PET/CT images.
• Communicate with patients and radiologists effectively.
• Train new technologists and PCs as needed.
• Troubleshoot scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment.
