Job summary

Huntsville Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registrar to support timely and accurate scheduling, eligibility verification, referrals, and patient registration. The role requires ensuring demographic accuracy, collecting at point of service, and properly transferring information to clinical care departments while promoting patient safety and data integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior hospital or physician practice experience preferred.
• Excellent computer, oral and written communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient registration and scheduling according to protocol, ensuring accurate demographics and records.
• Reviews registrations for quality and upfront collection goals; corrects errors before close of business.
• Uses payer websites for eligibility and benefits; performs pre-certification/authorization at time of service.
• Explains registration forms, obtains signatures, and ensures compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and PHI; adheres to safety and accuracy in the revenue cycle.
