Job summary

Vail Health Hospital in San Francisco is seeking a patient registration specialist to handle registration, admissions, and related tasks, including information collection, validation, invoicing, and orders. This PRN pool position offers flexibility and eligibility for the 16% PRN differential.

You will manage scheduling, answer phones, and coordinate front desk functions while ensuring HIPAA compliance and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Customer service and clerical experience.
• Must have working knowledge of English.
• No licenses or certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients and performs all registration-related functions, including obtaining consents and collecting financial paperwork.
• Communicates with patients to assist access to care via phone and in person, and follows up as needed.
• Handles non-clinical questions with excellent customer service on the phone or in person.
• Performs documentation audits for medical necessity and payor requirements using EMR systems.
• Schedules procedures and educates patients on pre/post exam requirements, sending reminders and recall letters.
• Manages front desk correspondence, mail, email, faxes, and routes queries to staff.
