Job summary

Saint Francis Health System is seeking a Part Time Revenue Cycle Patient Access Representative I to support patient registrations and admissions. You will verify demographics, insurance, and financial liability, explain costs, and direct patients to financial programs when needed.

Provide excellent service and coordinate with clinical teams to ensure a smooth patient flow. Primary duties include working with multiple departments, handling desktop registrations, and maintaining accurate records

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.
• Work Experience: None.
• Minimum 2 years customer service experience or 1 year related experience in health insurance field, preferred.
• Experience in hospital precertification and benefit/eligibility verification, preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 and other applicable software.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal that present clear and concise information.
• Strong financial, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong ability to work in a team and hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients for scheduled and unscheduled services, including inpatient and outpatient procedures.
• Verifies insurance coverage and ensures accurate representation of information on patient accounts.
• Completes all required documentation in the registration system in accordance with departmental standards.
• Obtains and provides accurate legal and compliance forms as needed.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with clinical and service departments.
• Escalates patient financial concerns to the appropriate department as necessary.
• Assists patients, families, and visitors with wayfinding and collaborates with volunteers to meet needs.
• Manages workqueues and handles follow-up actions to ensure timely resolution.
