The role involves dissection and sampling, describing gross features, training grossing technicians, and creating photomicrographs with QC. It also requires travel to partnering facilities as needed to ensure coverage.

Qualifications

• Must be certified as Pathologists' Assistant (ASCP/APA) with at least one year of experience.
• Bachelor's degree in biology or chemical science; Master's degree preferred.
• Must meet CLIA '88 criteria to perform high‑complexity testing.
• Knowledge of pathology procedures, protocols, and techniques.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Systems.

Responsibilities

• Dissection and histologic sampling of specimens per guidelines.
• Describe gross features and section specimens for histologic prep.
• Assist training of grossing technicians on moderate specimens.
• Ability to travel to partnering facilities to maintain coverage.
• Photomicrographs areas of interest and perform QC during imaging.
• Assist in discrepancy research to determine variance origin.
• Support pathologists during quality audits and maintain documentation.
