Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Pathologists Assistant in Indianapolis, IN, on-call. The role performs gross examinations of surgical pathology specimens under supervision, ensuring proper accessioning and labeling and documenting gross features.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) and state licensure if required; NAACLS-approved PA program is preferred. The position may offer annual bonus eligibility and opportunities to train Grossing Technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree B.S. (Required).
• Current state licensure, if applicable (Required).
• NAACLS approved Pathologist Assistant training program (Preferred).
• 1 year of surgical gross experience (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine gross examinations of surgical specimens.
• Ensure correct accessioning, labeling, and patient identification.
• Describe gross features and ensure all lesions and sutures are noted.
• Dissect specimens and prepare tissues for histologic processing.
• Oversee and train Grossing Technicians as needed.
• Comply with CLIA, CAP and safety standards.
