Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Patient Access Representative II for the therapy department at the St. Peters location.

This PRN, onsite role involves 8-10 hour shifts and being the first point of contact for patients, ensuring compassionate customer service and accurate entry of demographics and insurance information. The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication, and knowledge of insurance procedures, HIPAA, and Medicare guidelines.

Qualifications

• First point of contact for patients requiring compassionate service
• Accurate collection of demographics and insurance information; collect applicable payments
• Knowledge of Medicare guidelines, HIPAA, and patient rights requirements

Responsibilities

• Register patients and schedule in multiple BJC systems with correct MPI matching
• Verify insurance, check MSP compliance, and ensure documentation is complete
• Explain financial responsibilities and educate patients on costs and payment options
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure high quality of service
