Job summary

BJC HealthCare seeks a Patient Access Representative for its South County location. The role is primarily responsible for hospital registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and collecting patient information.

You will guide patients through financial responsibilities and ensure accurate documentation across systems. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and a patient-centered approach to maximize reimbursements and minimize denials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience of less than 2 years is typical.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and schedule appointments in multiple BJC systems; verify insurance and collect documents.
• Explain patient responsibilities and prepare financial instructions for procedures.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate demographic and insurance data entry to maximize reimbursements.
• Work safely and professionally, maintain patient records with attention to detail.
