Fairmount Behavioral Health System in Philadelphia seeks a Day/Evening PRN Nurse Supervisor to join the Nursing Leadership Team. This role oversees nursing services across the campus, supervising staff, managing crises, and ensuring patient safety in a psychiatric/chemical dependency setting.

The position emphasizes leadership, training, and performance evaluation, with duties primarily during evenings, nights, and weekends under CNO/ADON guidance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 1 year inpatient psychiatric experience with adults and/or adolescents preferred.
• 1 year of progressive experience in management and/or supervision.
• Current Pennsylvania State Registered Nurse License.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Handle with Care Certification.
• Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses and intervention with patients.
• Knowledge of milieu management.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and role modeling for assigned staff.
• Supervise direct patient care, assessments and crisis management.
• Ensure environmental safety for the patient population.

Responsibilities

Located on a 27-acre wooded campus, Fairmount Behavioral Health System is a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. Fairmount is a major regional resource for children, adolescents and adults who have psychiatric and behavioral problems as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. We are currently seeking a Day/Evening PRN Nurse Supervisor to join our team.
The House Supervisor is a member of the Nursing Leadership Team and has administrative and clinical responsibility for the functioning of nursing services for the facility in the absence of or directed by the ADON/CNO. The PRN Nurse Supervisor also provides administrative guidance and oversight for the entire campus and departments when department managers are off site. (Generally evenings, nights and weekends).

The PRN Nurse Supervisorprovides leadership and role modeling for assigned staff. Supervises direct patient care, assessments and crisis management. Ensures environmental safety for the patient population. Provide training and education to staff, patients, and families. Under the supervision/guidance of CNO/ADON, conduct performance evaluation of designated staff.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including adolescents and adults.
