Job summary

Fairmount Behavioral Health System is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for a psychiatric unit on a 27-acre campus in Philadelphia. The RN will supervise care, coordinate treatment plans, and work within a multidisciplinary team on three 7pm–7:30am shifts with every other weekend rotation.

Ideal candidates hold an accredited nursing degree, PA RN licensure, and CPR/AED/First Aid certifications. BSN is preferred; prior psychiatric nursing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.
• One year psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Licensure and registration by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners as a registered nurse.
• Certification in CPR, AED and First Aid.
• Knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and development, age-specific growth, limit setting, behavior and crisis management.

Responsibilities

• Supervises delivery of nursing care by professional and support staff on a designated unit.
• Coordinates, prescribes, and delegates care within the nursing process as part of the treatment team.
• Accountable for nursing activities on a shift basis and promotes professional practice.
• Participates in the unit's schedule and patient care planning.

Responsibilities

Located on a 27-acre wooded campus, Fairmount Behavioral Health System is a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. Fairmount is a major regional resource for children, adolescents and adults who have psychiatric and behavioral problems as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. We are currently seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our team.

The Registered Nurse supervises the delivery of nursing care provided by professional and support nursing staff on a designated unit. Care is provided in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Fairmount Behavioral Health System and the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care and the Nursing Board of Pennsylvania. The Registered Nurse prescribes, coordinates, and delegates care utilizing the nursing process which is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The RN is accountable for nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit.

Work Schedule: Three shifts per week, 7pm-7:30am and every other weekend rotation
