Job summary

Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center NICU is seeking a Registered Nurse for PRN as-needed day or night shifts. This role involves rotating weekends and holidays, and may float to other units within the service area to meet patient care needs.

Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience and an active RN license are required. BSN preferred; BLS certification is mandatory. The RN will provide high-quality, evidence-based care in a Level III NICU environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active registered nurse (RN) license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where providing care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Engages in governance, quality initiatives, and evidence-based practice improvements.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care with patient and family involvement.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team to affect outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety and ensures accurate EHR documentation.
• Communicates effectively, provides feedback, and supports teamwork and appropriate delegation.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Complies with ANA ethics and supports ethical patient care across disciplines.
• May float to other units within the service area as needed.
