Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for Neonatal Level III to join our unit. The role emphasizes evidence-based nursing, patient advocacy, and collaboration within a high-acuity team.

Requires RN licensure, BLS, and typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience. BSN preferred. Possesses strong clinical judgment and comfort with EHR documentation and interdisciplinary communication.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with multi-state compact and/or single-state privileges to practice where services are provided.
• BLS certification required; other certifications may be required based on specialty.

Responsibilities

• Engages in governance and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds a culture of safety and ensures accurate, timely documentation in the EHR.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to protocols.
• Maintains competence through ongoing education and age-appropriate patient care.
• May float to other units within the service area as needed.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff.
