Job summary

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team and deliver high-quality patient care alongside a primary care physician. The MA also serves as a receptionist to ensure an exceptional guest experience.

The role includes taking vitals, drawing blood, injections, lab coordination, immunizations, and front desk duties, with accurate record-keeping. CPR/BLS is required; MA certification preferred along with 1 year of MA experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program.
• National or state MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to room and ensures exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
• Reviews previous medical information and gathers updated health information for the provider.
• Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures.
• Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
• Prepares and administers medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
• Partners with care team to develop patient care plans and address gaps in care.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, record requests, referrals, and other clinic tasks.
• Records data in the medical record per documentation guidelines.
• Process test results and communicate to patients by e-message, mail, or phone.
• Outreach to patients to drive engagement among eligible groups.
• Maintains clinical and office supplies and equipment.
