Job summary

RMH Reynolds Memorial Hospital in West Virginia seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct inpatient nursing care and support the physician. The role requires an LPN license, BLS within 30 days of hire, and background checks.

You will perform therapeutic procedures, document observations, assist in examinations, and help educate patients and families. Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to work weekends/holidays are essential.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Licensed Practical Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care per plan of care and directs nursing care under supervision.
• Performs designated therapeutic procedures to assigned patients as needed.
• Observes and reports patient concerns, symptoms and progress in a timely manner.
• Assists physicians and supervising role with examinations and procedures as assigned.
• Contributes to nursing assessment by collecting and recording data.
• Monitors patient condition and reports deviations to supervising role.
• Assists in developing patient plans of care and supports comfort and human function maintenance.
• Assists in patient and family education and rehabilitation per teaching plan.
• Documents nursing interventions and responses to care for health team.
• Safely administers medications (IM, Subcutaneous, IV, oral, nebulization, MDI).
• Seeks instruction from supervising role when implementing nursing techniques.
• Completion of annual education related to specialty accreditation as defined by standards.
