Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care in an inpatient setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.

Responsibilities include administering medications, observing patient status, documenting in the medical record, and assisting in assessments and plan of care. Must maintain BLS certification and be able to work varying shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license required in the state of practice or multi-state eNLC license.
• CPR/BLS certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Criminal background checks as required for regulated areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per plan of care under supervision.
• Observe, document and report patient status and responses to care.
• Assist physicians and RNs with examinations and procedures.
• Assist in data collection for nursing assessment and care planning.
• Administer medications via IM, SC, IV, oral, nebulization or MDI as assigned.
