Job summary

West Virginia University Health System is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct outpatient nursing care and act as the primary medical contact for screening patients. Responsibilities include administering medications, observing and recording patient data, and assisting Providers during visits.

Qualified candidates hold an LPN license (state or multi-state via eNLC) and have BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in the state of service or multi-state LPN license via eNLC.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in outpatient setting.
• Follow standards of care and standards of practice.
• Administer IM, subcutaneous, and oral medications as ordered.
• Consult with Provider or RN for guidance.
• Take vital signs and document data in patient records.
• Assist Providers and RN with examinations and procedures.
• Maintain efficient use of supplies to control costs.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
