Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta seeks a Nutritionist to join the pediatric care team on a PRN basis. The role involves conducting nutritional assessments for diverse patient populations, recommending and monitoring medical nutrition therapy, and educating patients and families to support growth and recovery.

The position requires a BS in Nutrition or related field, current CDR registration, and Georgia licensure, with a 3-month window to obtain RD/LD if not yet held.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, Medical Dietetics, or related field.
• Current Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Georgia licensed dietitian.
• If RD/LD credential not current, must obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Pediatric nutrition experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determines nutritional assessment using age and developmentally appropriate standards.
• Recommends medical nutrition therapy and evaluates response.
• Instructs patient and family on nutrition therapy and includes caregiver in care.
• Advises groups on pediatric nutrition and community nutrition as needed.
• Implements documentation standards and participates in departmental activities.
• Directs and evaluates dietetic interns/students.
• Maintains professional development responsibilities.
• Performs other duties including committee participation and annual competencies.

Job Description

Participates as interdisciplinary patient care team member to provide nutritional services and education to meet needs of identified patient population within the scope of the medical center’s mission and values.

Experience

• Pediatric nutrition experience in inpatient or outpatient setting preferred, but not required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pediatric populations

• Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, Medical Dietetics, or related field

Certification Summary

• Current Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
• Georgia licensed dietitian
• If dietitian does not currently possess RD and/or LD credential, must obtain within 3 months of hire

Job Responsibilities
