Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Nutrition Services professional to join the interdisciplinary patient care team on a PRN basis. You will assess nutritional needs and tailor medical nutrition therapy for identified pediatric patients, providing education to families.

Required: BS in Nutrition or related field, current RD and Georgia license, or RD-eligibility with a 3‑month credential deadline; excellent communication and organizational skills; on-site work at 1001 Johnson Ferry Rd.

Qualifications

• Pediatric nutrition experience in inpatient or outpatient setting preferred, but not required.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Must be able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and supervise dietetic interns/students.

Responsibilities

• Determines nutritional assessment using age and developmentally appropriate standards.
• Recommends medical nutrition therapy and evaluates response; adjusts as needed.
• Instructs patient and family on nutrition therapy with developmentally appropriate education.
• Advises groups on pediatric nutrition therapy and community nutrition as required.
• Implements department standards for documenting activities.
• Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Directs and evaluates dietetic interns/students.
• Maintains professional development responsibilities.
• Performs other duties including committee participation and annual competencies.

Job Description

Participates as interdisciplinary patient care team member to provide nutritional services and education to meet needs of identified patient population within the scope of the medical center’s mission and values.

Experience

• Pediatric nutrition experience in inpatient or outpatient setting preferred, but not required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pediatric populations

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, Medical Dietetics, or related field

Certification Summary

• Current Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
• Georgia licensed dietitian
• If dietitian does not currently possess RD and/or LD credential, must obtain within 3 months of hire
